Two Categories

Narrow Gap Fillers vs Full Base Cabinet Pull-Outs

Base unit organisers fall into two practical categories — slim units that turn leftover gaps into storage, and full-width pull-outs that replace a standard cupboard shelf entirely.

150mm Narrow Pull-Outs

The classic gap-filler between an oven housing and a wall, or at the end of a run. Fits oils, spices, chopping boards or towel rails into a space too narrow for a standard cupboard.

300–600mm K-Line Pull-Outs

Wire basket pull-outs sized to standard cabinet widths, replacing a fixed shelf with tiered access to bottles, tins and everyday essentials without unstacking half the cupboard to reach the back.

Cutlery & Drawer Organisers

Sprung or stacked trays that drop into a standard drawer box, keeping cutlery, gadgets and utensils sorted into fixed compartments instead of a jumbled single layer.

Cutlery Trays & Drawer Organisers

A well-fitted cutlery tray does more than tidy up — it stops drawers rattling, protects blade edges from knocking together, and makes it obvious at a glance when you're low on a particular utensil.

We specify stacked or sprung tray sets sized to your exact drawer box internal dimensions, rather than a generic off-the-shelf tray that leaves awkward gaps at the edges.

Base Unit FAQs

Base Unit Storage Questions

What homeowners most often ask before specifying base unit organisers.

What's the narrowest gap I can fit a pull-out into?
150mm is the standard narrowest width for a dedicated pull-out unit, and it's a genuinely useful size — enough for oils, spices, a chopping board, or a towel rail with a shelf beneath. Anything narrower than 150mm generally isn't practical for a mechanised pull-out; a fixed narrow shelf or spice rack is the better option below that.
Can cutlery trays be cut to a non-standard drawer size?
Yes. While off-the-shelf tray sizes cover most standard drawer boxes, we can specify trimmable or bespoke-cut inserts for non-standard or older drawer boxes so there's no wasted gap at the edges. We take exact internal measurements on the planning visit before ordering.
Do base pull-outs need a special hinge or cabinet modification?
No — unlike corner carousels, base unit pull-outs mount to a standard cabinet frame with standard hinges and don't need any special door opening angle. This makes them one of the easiest and most cost-effective accessories to retrofit into an existing kitchen.
What's the weight limit on a base unit pull-out basket?
Standard base unit pull-out baskets are typically rated around 15–20kg per basket on full-extension ball-bearing runners, comfortably handling glass bottles, jars, tins and cookware. Larger 500–600mm units with two or three basket tiers carry proportionally more across the full unit.
